Starting my blog at the end of 2014 makes me feel like a late adopter of technology. In marketing language I’m a laggard. They could have chosen a less demeaning term; it’s not nice to be “a person who makes slow progress and falls behind others”.
The irony is that in 1996, when very few people were online or even had an email address, I had my own website and over 100 people signed up to my newsletter. I was learning English at that time and the blog was named “Let’s Talk”. Maybe if I had continued, today I'd have my own media empire :). A bit megalomaniac, I know. Back then I was passionate about sharing my English learning with others and it was nice to connect with people who were in the same journey. Then, I moved countries, had kids, so much happened and life changed in so many ways. My passion for learning still remains. I want to start sharing again, connecting again, and continue to discover. This time I’ll be talking about another language though. I’ll speak from the heart about what I’ve learnt in my four decades in this planet. Hope a few people will join the conversation. |

Pen and paper, here I go
I’ve been toying with the idea of writing for a few months
and have finally found some headspace to sit down and take the first step.
I’m not sure where this journey will take me, but I keep reminding myself it’s
about the journey. I just feel compelled to write. And read. I was not an avid
reader growing up but now getting older, written words seem to make much more
sense.
I love technology but I'm still a big fan of notepads. |
